As far as the customer is concerned, the interface is the product. - Jef Raskin
Who is behind all this?
My name is Tony Ford. I studied Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing and Design while living in Bremen, Germany. Before working as a graphic designer I was an engineer in the US Army for 4 years. Afterwards I worked for America Express Bank in Germany and was a spokes person for their services on a weekly basis for 2 years selling the banks products and services to soldiers of all ranks in Germany. The bank also sent me to several customer service training courses and presentation workshops where I was offered a job as a lecturer on the subject of giving presentations in Bad Kissingen. I turned down the offer and after some time left banking to satisfy the creative giant within me.
Over the past 20 years I have worked on hundreds of presentations, advertising campaigns and other marketing strategies helping a range of top named brands including Beck & Co Germany, Kellogg’s Germany, Kraft Foods Germany, BMW, Citroen AG Germany, Aldi – Germany communicate their products and services to their customers.
The 1990s. My journey began mid 1991 after my studies where working as a graphic designer I applied an array of skills including illustration, corporate design and layout technique to clients from retail to financial sectors. This meant creating and designing different types of print matrial and publications including inhouse journals, package design, print ads, billboard ads, signages, pictograms, logos, infographics and lots more.
After years of working as a graphic designer I took it upon myself to learn everything there is to know about interactive design. There were no courses available on UX and UI at the time so I took whatever correspondance courses I could find to supplement my skills. It was here that my journey began as an interactive designer designing digital kiosks, touch screen displays and interactive CD Roms.
These were my first experience with User Experience Design before it became a buzz word. This again was for clients including Kellogg's Germany, Kraft Foods and WINERGY Equilibrium. It was also during this time that I taught myself Adobe Flash (formally Macromedia) and gave monthly workshops on interactive design using Flash technology. This expanded into designing software interfaces and eventually websites.
What does that name mean?
The name Anisotropic comes from the term anisotropic diffusion as defined by Wikipedia is a technique aimed at reducing image noise without removing significant parts of the image content. Anisotropic Studios aims at reducing noise (as in distractions) that hinder the communication process, without removing significant parts of your content. This helps bridge the communications gap between potential customers and your products and/services.
